2007年11月，来自建设部、上海、南京及山东的规划、体育、建筑专家对亚沙会配套设施概念性规划设计conceptual design for supporting facility进行了评审，并以此为基础完成了第三届亚洲沙滩运动会比赛项目区及亚运村规划。
Some experts in sports, architecture, design from ministry of housing urban-rural development, Shanghai and Nanjing evaluated and analyzed the conceptual design for ABG supporting facility. On this basis, design for sports area and athletes village was finished in November, 2007.
2008年3月，经国务院批准，第三届亚洲沙滩运动会组织委员会正式成立。

2009年7月,海阳2012第三届亚洲沙滩运动会理念、口号、会徽在济南山东大厦揭晓。”海韵、阳光、激情、时尚”是2012第三届亚洲沙滩运动会理念，”快乐在一起”是2012第三届亚洲沙滩运动会的口号。
Vision, logo and slogan of 3rd Asian Beach Games were be announced in Jinan in June 2009. The 3rd Asian Beach Games will use "sea sun passion fashion" as its vision, and "share the joy " as the slogan for The 3rd Asian Beach Games.
